The strength of the Staples High School soccer program was on display, yesterday, as the boy's team chalked up an easy win over West Haven, in the opener of the CIAC LL (extra large school) State Championship.  The team scored their first goal, fifteen minutes into play, followed by a second goal, only seconds later.  At the end of the first half, Staples led 3-0, which held as a final score.

Looks a little cool for soccer, but three first half goals can really help you stay warm! Good luck to the team in their quest for back-to-back titles.

John- Thanks for the good wishes.  The second round is this afternoon.  Hopefully, it will be less windy.  The 1st round game was postponed a day, due to inclement weather, which only gave the boys a one day rest between rounds.

Chris-  They made it past Guilford, today, but it wasn't easy.  Staples won, in overtime 2-1.  Hope to see you in the semi-finals.
